![]() We tend to think that safety comes from retraction. A closed stance feels protected; an open stance seems exposed. But the opposite is actually true. Resistance does not protect us from the world around us, and as those things happen anyway, resistance keeps us from adapting and having a creative response to whatever is happening. I talk about five ways to cultivate an attitude of growth: self-observation, questions, openness/listening, knowing our stories, and seeing the ways we are connected.
