Hi Elese,
I love, love, love your shows and topics. This show in particular has enrolled me to engage in this conversation. You asked,"what if all health is mental health?"
Something that might interest you is that the World Health Organization defines health as "a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity".
I want to make a distinction between physical and mental health. Physical health is for me an objective concept. Someone has a broken leg, or leukemia, or a cold. Mental health is subjective. Mental health is the story we make up about the broken leg, or leukemia, or cold. Physical health is a physical condition/ state, which is what it is. What we often mean by physical health is a state of being broken bone, disease or illness free. Why I can see all health as being mental health is based on how our thinking (or mental health) influences both mental and physical health positively and negatively.
Just as we learn what is good to eat and not good to eat for our physical health, I do think we are able to learn what is good and not good to think for our mental health. What do you think? : ) With love, Wendy Batten

After thinking about it, it has become clear to me that physical health is just as subjective as mental health. We can subjectively influence our physical health! Just as we can have outside causes of mental disease. The distinction between physical and mental health are not as great as I initially thought.
